5 am is that interesting time when you wonder… Are they still awake or just woke up? I just woke up but usually amore on the stay up end of 5am.

Due to some recent craziness I haven’t been able to get as much sleep as I’d like to(I only need 4-5 hours). This has lead me to experiment with some new skincare routines (naturally). Awhile ago I talked with two co-workers on some natural skincare remedies and methods. While I’ve incorporated the anti-aging method for moisturizer application, I was never able to bring myself to the cold, cold practice of using ice cubes. But my puffy eyes spoke and something needed to be done (I looked swollen!).

I’ve been trying to rub an ice cube on my face every morning between showering and moisturizing. I generally just rub the cube around in circles and pay special attention to direct the circle movement under my eyes from inner to outter corner.

Today I decided to finally google this practice. Turns out using an ice cube has tons of benefits!
-minimizes pores
-brightens skin
-de-puffs
-gets rid of bags and circles
-stimulates cell regeneration (read: anti aging)

Neat! There are also special ice cube recipes for certain desired effects. I.e. orange juice ice cubes to brighten and even skin tone.

Word of caution! And something I didn’t know till now…don’t put the ice cube directly on your face. Instead use a wash cloth or any type of cloth barrier. Bare cubes can break capillaries below the skin, which can actually make you look older.
